"In 1905, when Richard E. and Lovira L. Allen were 48 years old, they took in a young boy named Terry as a foster son. Terry was born July 3, 1900 and had been living it the Christian Home in Council Bluffs, Iowa and was later adopted by them. In March 1918 he was shot while in Douglas, Wyoming. Before he died he requested that word be sent to Charles McGuire, the Allen's son in law, who went to Douglas but did not arrive until after Terry died. Charles returned with the body of Terry so he could be buried along with his adoptive family members. Terry was one of those kind hearted boys who was always willing to share his pleasures and the best that he had with his friends." - Dennis McGuire
